Our History
Solve & Sustain was started after recognition of the need to help small businesses handle food waste. Our purpose - to help those businesses donate surplus food instead of wasting it - lies at the crossroads of sustainability and helping those in need.
About Food waste
When food is thrown away, it gets sent to landfills where it rots and produces methane. In fact, 58% of landfill emissions come from food waste. Thus, in addition to helping people, preventing food waste is an opportunity to combat the ongoing climate crisis.
Our Community
We are incredibly grateful to be surrounded by a community that continuously supports us. From local food establishments, to non-profit partners, to organizations that accept donated food, our work wouldn't be possible without them.

Since our focus is on small businesses, they often need help packaging surplus food. Volunteering to help package food would greatly help us as well as the businesses we work with.

All the food we work with is transported by volunteer drivers, who pick it up from businesses and drop it off at the corresponding non-profit. Please reach out to us if you are interested in helping with this process.
